GTUG Barcelona Hackathon MWC 2011

GTUG Barcelona, together with fastDove and Tupply are happy to present the Platform Wars Hackathon.

Join us for a fun day of mobile programing in sunny Barcelona just before the start of the Mobile World Congress.

The goal of the hackathon will be for developers to build interesting openData-driven app prototypes using a mash up of local openData APIs, Google APIs or other publicly available APIs.

Applications must be programed for any of the Mobile platforms available. (Android, iOS, Blackberry,  Windows 7 Phone, Symbian, WebOS, Bada, ... )

With help from our sponsors we will provide drinks, snacks, lunch and dinner.

The Hackathon will be held at the La Salle BCN, thanks to the kind support from Technova Barcelona.

Event will be held in Spanish, Catalan and English.

We'll have a AR Drone from Parrot available to play with, but don't get distracted!

We love Mangajo tea drinks! We'll have them served ice-cold all day long!

Prizes will be awarded which will include an Android Tablet Toshiba Folio 100, a Kensigton PowerBack iPad Case and a Kensignton PowerGuard iPhone Case.

-What can I code in?

Developers can code in the language and platform of their choosing.

-What should I bring with me?

You should bring a laptop or two, plus anything else you need to build an app (iPhone, Android, Blackberry for mobile app, books; etc.) We’ll provide power and Internet connection, as well as desks, chairs, food, and drinks.

-Can we code in groups?

Developers can code as individuals or in small teams.
